Kim Delaney is an American actress who is best known for playing detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she won an Emmy Award. Her credits include All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney is the daughter of an executive in the United Auto Workers who was also a mother. Delaney has four older brothers. While she had a childhood aspiration to become a journalist, it wasn't until her high school years when Delaney started modeling. After moving from New York City and gaining experiences in commercials and commercials in New York did she achieve her dream of becoming aspiring court reporters. As a teenager the first time she appeared as an actor was on the soap opera All My Children. Delaney is an acclaimed actress, appearing involved in numerous television dramas, and TV films. Her professional career has been much more lucrative than her personal life. The gifted actress was struggling to overcome addiction to alcohol, and was married twice only to fail. In 2005 she lost the custody of her only son.
